Along the edge of the forrest, one would find a lake, imbersed in its beauty. This lake was unseen and unknown to Humans, and preferably, Pelagie would have preferred to keep it that way. A small and thin brown haired girl wandered and walked out of hte shadows of the forrest onto the adge of the lake. SHe smiled content that she had the lake to herself, she looked into the lake serenely. It was almost dark, and Pell should be getting back to the woods and her home soon, but she couldn't tear herself away from the body of water. She had always felt this way about water, she couldn't bear to stay away from it for long.
Pell sat along the dege of the beautiful lake and dipped her fingers into it gently, causing ripples around her fingers. SHe smiled as the water cooled her skin and a slight breeze carried the ripples away from her. She was tempted to jump in, but restrained ehrself from something so... uncalled for. SHe looked around her and heard a rustle behind her in the trees. Seh got up quickly and muttered something under her breath. If it is a human... Pell got ready to duck underneath the safety of the thich cat tails in case it was an unfriendly visitor, not that it would do any good.

Absent minded, a young, light haired fairy wandered through the tree’s close to the lake. She had been there many a time but could not tell you were she was at the moment. It had once been a favourite haunt for her but after a while she had grown away from it. Funny that her subconscious mind had led her back there after so long. Maybe it was because it new that it was a place she could think. She did want to think. To try and sort out her mind and figure out what was wrong with her. She sighed and came out of the forest into view of the lake and another. She stopped when she saw that there was another fairy there and for a few seconds she looked slightly bewildered. Normally she wouldn’t have made herself known to another but carried on her way. But this time there was no way she could not be seen. Slowly she turned her head slightly too each side and looked around. She began to focus and where she was dawned on her. For a second she wondered why she had gone to the lake but she quickly pushed that to the back of her mind as she wondered what to do. It would be rude to carry on her way and say nothing yet she didn’t know who the other fairy was and with people she didn’t know shyness came over her that had not quiet evaporated from when she was a young child. She bit her lip slightly and hoped that the other would speak first and save her from humiliation, perhaps save them both.

Pellagie looked up and inspected the girl then slightly relaxed. She had that aura as well- she was a fairy. Pell sighed in relief and bend back, looking up at the sky. After a couple of minutes of this, she looked back at teh girl who was there. "I thought you were a human- I got scared for a momment" She smiled at the girl then continued looking out at the lake. it was beautiful, but however, not many seemed to visit here. All the times that Pelagie herself had been here, she had never been distrupted. She was used to being alone when in this place,. but compay was also good as well.
She looked up and felt a slight breeze tickle her cheeks. She smiled as she looked up again. Her brown hair shone in the light that was scarce at this hour. She smiled at the girl. "I'm Pelagie Summers, but most people call me Pell." SHe smiled kindly before proceeding. Pell looked around her and picked at some flowers there on the floor. She pciked some small ones and started to weave a long chain of the flowers and smiled as she observed her handiwork after a couple of minutes. SHe looked up at the girl and then asked, "What is your name?"

Evelina smiled softly to herself trying to encourage herself not to revert back to her old childish shyness that she despised. The fact that the other fairy seemed nice made it slightly easier and she glanced up at the sky for a second before taking a deep breath to try and calm her nerves. My names Evelina She smiled again this time to be friendly. She hoped that the other fairy, Pell didn’t call her Eve like most people did, it really got on her nerves but she hardly said anything about it. She was thinking of saying something about the fact that Pell had thought she was a human at first but she stayed silent as was usual. Glancing around her gaze lingered a few seconds on the lake. It was so impressive in the winter when ice claimed it. It made it look unreal. Though some would say that Evelina, Pell and others like them were unreal and that didn’t mean anything, they were real and hopefully always would be. The thought of humans made her start thinking and a soft, thoughtful smile played on her lips. She wondered if humans and fairies could ever live together hand by hand and not have any trouble, to treat them all equally, not attack and to not be afraid. It shocked her that a human could ever be scared of a fairy but she had been taught that they feared the unknown. Coming back out of her thoughts she looked again at Pell and tried to think of something to say. Words had never been her strongpoint.

Pell smiled at the girl as she introduced herself. "Please to meet you." She said, bowing her head slightly. SHe went back to her flower chain then held up her handiwork. It was about a foot long now and the silence lingered in the air, haunting Pell. One thing that she hated: silence. She filled it with her soft, light voice, that seemed to pierce the air, as an arrow would in water. "So what brings you here? Not many come here." She hoped that her statement hadn't come out the wrong way, as if to say This is my territory, who do you think youa re? That was not what she had meant at all.
Pell tyed the flower chain at both ends and tied it around her neck, now a necklace. She fingered the petals around her neck slightly and softly, as not to break them. The petals felt light and smooth against her pale skin. She looked up at her newfound friend, and smiled at her, then asked her smoothly. “Want one? I make about 20 a day- it’s kind of pathetic, but my mom taught me how to do them.” She smiled at the girl then wandered to the edge of the lake, then bent over the lake looking at her reflection. A pale and brown haired girl looked back at her. Pell was overall content with what she saw: but one thing: her ominous forehead that seemed to be bigger than the rest of her face. An overexaggeration of course, but when she lived in a world where everyone was supposed to look perfect, it was easy to be picky. No one was actually perfect of close, but fairies were supposed to be the closest thing, weren’t they? There weren’t really any ugly fairies out there, and that bothered her. Why was it like that? Humans on the other hand were different. To them, of course such standards existed but wre they extreme as the fairies? Of course, they weren’t like the fairies, magical in any way.
She sighed then dipped her finger in the water, lost in her thoughts. Then she remembered that she wasn;t alone and looked up at Evelina, waiting for a reply to her previous question, when a thought occurred to her. “Do you like to be called anything else? I don’t want to start calling you something if you don’t like it.” Pell understood how this was because she experience the same thing herself. When she was little, her parents and friends used to call her ‘Gee’ short for Pelagie. She hated it and had ended up having a water fight with those girls. She had gotten in trouble for it of course by her parents, but no one had called her ‘Gee’ after that. Now they stuck to calling her ‘Pell’ which was much more to her licking hten ‘Gee.’ She shuddered at the memory of being called such a childish name. Of course, Pell wasn’t exactly sophisticated either, but it was better than being called a letter

Evelina had to consider the first question carefully and as she thought about it she cocked her head to the right slightly like a dog would. She pondered the question for a few seconds before answering truthfully. I’m not really sure. I was thinking about something and just ended up here. Her lyrics flowed out like crystal with a hint of thought in them as she still wondered why exactly her feet had carried her here, perhaps it was fate. It depended really on whether you believed in fate or not. Evelina was not sure if she did believe in fate. She believed that every choice you made changed your future and that what would be would be. She felt that no matter what happened in life didn’t really matter as long as you lived through it and continued on. The world didn’t stop for nothing so why should people. No thanks. She answered the question to the daisy chain with a slight smile. She had used to make them a lot too, but only when she was much younger, now she thought that they looked better in the ground and just left them to grow. Evelina walked closer to the other girl and sat down a few meters away by the water’s edge. It brought back so many memories being here and she wondered why she had stopped coming so much. Then she remembered and she couldn’t help a smile reaching her lips. She quickly suppressed it, trying not to think about the reason. It wasn’t right and made her feel disgusted with herself. Bus despite this her mind began to wander again. Words drifted to her senses and it took her a while to realise that Pell had spoken again and longer still to make the words make sense. Just Evelina She answered after a while and smiled again slightly. The answers to the questions were all rather short but that was how she was, until you got to really know her. Once you had got to know her very well she would talk more, but for now she was to quiet. She knew that it bugged some people but she couldn’t help it. It was just how she was and she doubted that she would ever change. Carefully she brushed her fingertips across the surface of the lake and silently watched the ripples spread as she tried to think of something to say. She came up with nothing so just sat in silence with her slim fingers dragging in the cold water. She wondered if it would get cold enough to freeze this winter. It had been a while since it had but it seemed colder this winter so they might be a chance. Evelina had seen some human children ice skating when she was younger and she always itched for the chance to have a go but had no idea where she could get the shoes with blades underneath them. She looked up at the other girl and thought of something to say. So why are you here? She asked which was the same question Pell had asked her earlier was basically. It just showed how imaginative she was. No, in truth she felt that it was the only safe question she could asked though it still sounded slightly wrong to her. But she pushed that away in her mind and waited for an answer.

Pell dipped her fingers into the water and smiled. "I just come here all the time- its a habit, I love the water." It was strange that her parents would think to name her something that meant water. To be Pelagic was to be pertaining to water. Pell was always near water and when seh wasn't, she felt like something was missing from her. Silly as it sounded, it was true. Perhaps the reason why she was so attracted to water was because of ehr name?
Pell shook the complex thoughts from her head. She sighed and startingwiggling her fingers in the water again, causing little ripples to hit her fingers and the sides of the water edge and then bouunce back. The water was cold of course: it was winter, but thankfully the water wasn't frozen, just some parts of it thin layers of ice rested on teh water.
{sorry, writers' block}

Evelina smiled softly as she watched the tiny ripples caused by both hers and Pell's fingers spread across the waters edge. The lake definitely did look pretty in winter. Though it seemed to look pretty all year around. She wondered if the water would ice over any time soon.
She tired to find something to say but as usual came up with nothing. She preferred silence but when she was with people and no one was talking she began to feel akward and tried to find something to talk about. But even if she did find something to talk about she was never brave enough to break the silence and speak. She wondered if it would always be like that, after all, she had improved since she was little when she hardly even talked to her close friends. She missed them but she had begun to drift away from them when she became interested in humans. Though she had no idea why she missed them, she never felt like she was one of them and always felt left out. How could you miss that? She had no idea, all she knew was that she did.
Glancing at Pell she wondered if they could be friends and then almost shook her head. What a stupid idea, who would want to be friends with her? It was a question that often span around in her head and it could never be chased away, no matter how much it hurt her.
